Annie Howard
MS, PT, FDN, Vestibular Certified, Concussion Specialist
I am passionate about treating concussion and helping my clients return to living their lives pain free.
I am originally from Darien, CT and made my way to the mountains of Park City after college at the University of Vermont.
In 2018, while ski mountaineering in Chile I took a fall and landed myself a concussion. For the following 9 months I experienced terrible headaches, light sensitivity, stuffy ears, brain fog, irritability, and the list goes on… I felt like an alien had invaded my body and not many people understood or knew how to help.
At that time, I had been a PT for 8 years and I was not getting better following traditional physical therapy treatment. I delved into research and continuing education learning how to treat concussion symptoms. After learning about the emerging concept of integrating the visual, vestibular, autonomic, and cognitive systems together I decided to give this approach a try. After only two weeks of PT, I was amazed at how my recovery turned a corner. I noticed improvement in all of my symptoms and within a couple of months my symptoms had resolved. I was able to work a full day as well as mountain bike and ski tour without intense headaches afterward. After learning how to integrate the various body systems, I developed my unique systematic treatment program to help others feel like themselves again.
I am an avid outdoor enthusiast with a focus on healthy eating and lifestyle. In the winter you can find me ski mountaineering and in the summer on my mountain bike or summiting peaks on foot. I am grateful to be able to call Park City home and love the opportunity to connect with my community.
